TEMPORARY STATUS IN CANADA
The first step many people take to come to Canada is to obtain a visa that provides temporary status. The most common types of temporary status visas are: work; student; visitor; live in caregiver; and temporary resident. Generally, these visas can be renewed. There are certain factors taken into consideration by the government when they are deciding whether to renew your visa.
The emphasis of Canadian permanent immigration policy has changed. It now rewards people who have previously been in Canada on a temporary basis. If you are thinking of immigrating in the future you should become familiar with the temporary visa options available to you.
