I am a qualified Canadian lawyer in the Canadian provinces of British Columbia (1983) and Ontario (1989). I am a graduate of Queen’s University Law School in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. I was awarded The Gavel Award as The Outstanding Student in my graduating class at Queen’s University Law School in 1981.

I have organized and acted as a Chairman and as a Co-Chairman of many Canadian Bar Association National and British Columbia Provincial Immigration Legal Conferences. I have been a speaker and a moderator at many CBA National, CBA British Columbia and Continuing Legal Education British Columbia immigration legal conferences

I believe in leading a balanced life. I am married and balance my family and professional life with a few other interests. I am the Vice-Chairman of the Canadian Bar Association Work Life Balance Section. In my spare time I also serve as a Director on the Board of Nikkei Home. This is an assisted living centre for Japanese Canadians in Burnaby, British Columbia.

I am also a triathlete. I have successfully represented Canada as a member of the Canadian National Team (Age Group) 9 times at the International Triathlon Union World Championships (Ironman, Three-Quarter Ironman, Olympic and Sprint Distances). I have also completed 13 Ironman triathlons. I have been the Captain and Manager of the Canadian National Team (Age Group). I have also carried the Canadian Flag at the Opening Ceremonies at the ITU World Championships. I am currently training for triathlons and will compete at the Canadian National Championships. I am also a runner and have completed 25 marathons.
