I am a qualified Canadian lawyer in the Canadian provinces of British Columbia (1983) and Ontario (1989). I am a graduate of Queen’s University Law School in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. I was awarded The Gavel Award as The Outstanding Student in my graduating class at Queen’s University Law School in 1981.

I have organized and acted as a Chairman and as a Co-Chairman of many Canadian Bar Association National and British Columbia Provincial Immigration Legal Conferences. I have been a speaker and a moderator at many CBA National and B.C. Provincial Immigration Legal Conferences.

In my spare time I also serve as a Director on the Board of Nikkei Home. This is an assisted living centre for Japanese Canadians in Burnaby, British Columbia.

I am also a triathlete. I have successfully represented Canada as a member of the Canadian National Team 7 times at the ITU World Championships (Ironman, Three-Quarters Ironman and Olympic Distances).
